Privacy Policy

Effective October 14, 2026. This introduction explains what Designs24hr Notes stores locally and what information may be handled by the website host when you open a page.

Notes Stored in Your Browser

The app stores notes in IndexedDB in your browser profile. Note titles, bodies, search terms and imported file contents are not uploaded to our application servers. TXT exports and JSON backups are created in the browser. Importing a file reads it locally.

Backups and Downloads

A TXT download contains one note. A JSON backup contains the collection, including Trash. Export files are unencrypted, so keep them somewhere you trust.

Cookies and Local Preferences

The app may keep the last-opened note, backup reminder dates and preferences in localStorage. It uses a service worker and Cache Storage for public offline files. The notes database also stores revision, import and deletion metadata to protect notes during edits and restores.

How Browser Storage Works

Autosave uses IndexedDB, preferences use localStorage, and public offline files use Cache Storage. These stores belong to this browser profile and do not automatically sync to other devices. The app does not set advertising or analytics cookies.

Information We Collect

When you request a page, the hosting provider may receive standard connection information such as IP address, browser details and request time. Note text is not intentionally included in those requests. Hosting-log retention depends on the provider; this page does not promise a retention period that has not been confirmed.

Analytics and Advertising

This release does not load third-party advertising or analytics scripts. Any future use of these services requires a separate privacy update explaining the providers, data handling and relevant choices before they are enabled.

Data Security and Limitations

Notes are not password-protected or encrypted by this app. Someone with access to your device, browser profile or installed extensions may be able to read them. Browser and operating-system services, such as cloud clipboards, input methods or enhanced spellcheck, operate outside this app. Spellcheck starts disabled. Export files are unencrypted.

Your Choices and Controls

Notes remain until you delete them or browser/device conditions remove them. Trash is not automatically emptied. Permanent deletion removes the stored note and retains minimal deletion identifiers to prevent stale tabs recreating it; this is not a secure-erasure guarantee. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes local notes and preferences.

How Notes May Be Lost

Private browsing, clearing site data, browser storage eviction or losing this device can remove local notes. A successful local save does not guarantee permanent retention.

To keep a copy, export a backup before clearing data. Backups are unencrypted, so store them somewhere you trust.

External websites follow their own privacy policies. The app does not automatically attach note contents to a support request. See contact information for the main-site contact form. That website follows its own policies. Do not send private note contents in a message.

Policy Updates
