LOCAL STORAGE & BACKUPS

Where Your Browser Notes Are Saved

Your notes are stored in this browser’s IndexedDB database on this device. You do not need an account, and your notes do not automatically sync to other browsers or devices.

Private browsing, clearing site data, storage eviction, or losing this device can remove local notes. Download or back up anything important; backups are unencrypted files that you control.

Online Notepad FAQs

Is this notepad online free to use?

Yes. You can keep notes online without paying or creating an account. The editor, 99 templates, note search, pins, Trash, TXT downloads and JSON backups are free.

Does the online notepad save automatically?

Yes, when local browser storage is available. Wait for Saved in this browser before closing the page. If saving fails, keep it open, download your text and follow the backup and restore guide.

Where are my notes stored?

Notes are stored in IndexedDB in this browser profile on this device. Clearing site data, private browsing, storage eviction or losing the device can remove them. Local saving is not a separate backup.

Is this a private notepad?

The app does not upload your note text to its servers. It has no password lock or application-level encryption, and shared-device users or browser extensions may access notes. See the privacy policy for the limits.

Can I use the browser notepad offline?

After a successful online visit, supported browsers can cache the public app files. Check More → Storage & privacy for Offline ready and test your browser before relying on it. A first visit without internet cannot load the app. Read the offline setup guide.

Can I download or back up my notes?

Choose More → Download TXT for one note, or Back up all notes for the full collection, including Trash. Use Import / restore to import a TXT file or restore a JSON backup. Backups are unencrypted files you control.

Will my online notes appear on another device?

No automatic sync is provided. Transfer a downloaded JSON backup yourself, then import it in the other browser. Merge keeps current notes; Replace replaces the current collection. Make a backup before replacing anything.
